Art en Loire is the name of the art gallery on rue du Pont.
Three very talented artists display their art work in the one gallery. Agnes van Gaalen is a mulit-talented artist. She does beautiful paintings, cards, brooches, and cloth handbags. Each of her creations are one of a kind.
Émilie Sauvage does chic creations in collars and wraps. Emilie also makes darling little wool animals.
Raphaële Delas is a ceramic artist and she also teaches pottery. Raphaële creates everything from bowls, figurines, animals, birds and fun mushrooms. Any of her creations made for the garden can stay outside all year. So no worries about freezing weather.
All three artists enjoy talking to people. Ask them about how they create their pieces of art. Stop by to look for a gift or perhaps something for yourself.
Thoughts of food. Barbeque season is here and we love barbequed chicken. We brine the chicken in salt, sugar, bay leaf, some lemon zest and cold water for about four hours in the fridge. The brine recipe is from Molly Stevens. Then we put a spice rub on the chicken just before we put it on the barbeque. Last Friday we did a mix of olive oil, grainy mustard and herbes de Provence. The chicken thighs took about 25 minutes with Byron turning them frequently. Delicious!
