Passé Simple is a delightful brocante and vintage store on the main street in La Charité-sur-Loire.
Pascal and Sébastien opened their brocante last year to great success. The brocante is full of china, dishes, silver, old linens, furniture, knick-knacks and many other wonderful finds.
We encourage you to take your time and wander through the store. You will be sure to discover that perfect gift or something to take home for yourself.
If you are searching for something in particular please ask Pascal and Sébastien as they are always happy to help. They are both very friendly and they speak English.
Last week we had a chat with Sébastien and he tells us that they will be opening a Salon de Thé this summer on the floor above their brocante. We are happily looking forward to the opening of their Salon de Thé and the delicious cakes!
Thoughts of food. At a recent dinner party I made Michel Roux's Soupe de Courgettes au Parfum de Curry for the starter. It was so delicious that I will try to double it the next time so we can have leftovers! This recipe is from his book The Essence of French Cooking.
